Questions

What families ask us

Do I need a referral from my doctor to start?

In Texas you can start with an evaluation without a referral, with some limits we explain at your first visit. Your plan may still ask for one. Call us and we check before your visit.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

We bill several kinds of plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and tell you before your first visit.

What if I pay myself?

We tell you the cost before you book and give you a written good faith estimate. If cost worries you, ask the front desk what options there are.

How long is a visit, and who sees me?

The first visit takes about an hour with a licensed physical therapist. At later visits you may see a physical therapist assistant, working under the therapist's direction.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what we find, how long you have had the problem, your work and how your body responds. We cannot give you a number before evaluating you; after the first visit we give you an idea and adjust it with you.

What do I wear, and what do I bring?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and closed shoes. Bring your ID, your insurance card if you have one, and your doctor's instructions if you have them.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can tolerate. If something bothers you, tell us and we adjust it. Some people feel tired after exercise, and we explain what is normal.

Do you offer video visits?

Some follow-up visits can be by video, if the therapist thinks it suits you and you are in Texas, where we are licensed. The first visit is in person.

Do you see work or auto injuries?

Yes. If you were hurt in a crash or at work, get emergency care first if you need it. Tell us who your adjuster is: your state decides who may direct your care.

Can I come with a family member, or someone to help me follow along?

Yes. You can bring someone with you. We see patients in Spanish, in English or in both in the same visit, whichever you prefer.
