Physical therapy for the shoulder
For people with shoulder pain, weakness or stiffness who find it hard to raise the arm, get dressed or work.
We check the movement and strength of the shoulder, neck and upper back, because the problem is sometimes not where it hurts. Then we teach you exercises and explain how to protect the shoulder at work.
This care is for you if
It is hard to raise your arm to comb your hair, get dressed or reach something high
Your job means lifting, pulling or working with your arms overhead
You hurt your shoulder in a fall or at work
Your surgeon sent you to therapy after a shoulder operation

What we do
We name it without promises: each plan depends on you.
Movement and strength
Exercises that bring back movement little by little and strengthen the shoulder without forcing it.
Hands-on care
Hands-on techniques for the shoulder, neck and upper back.
A plan for home
Exercises with written instructions, to do between visits.
Visits, therapists and paying
What decides how many visits you need
How many visits you need depends on which part of the shoulder is affected, how long it has been this way, the work you do and your doctor's or surgeon's instructions.
Who sees you
A licensed physical therapist, and sometimes an assistant working under their direction. On the team page we say which language each person speaks.

How fees work
See your doctor first
Before you come, talk to your doctor:
- If the shoulder was hurt in a hard blow or a fall and you cannot move the arm
- If the shoulder looks out of shape, red, swollen or warm
- If the pain comes with a fever
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.
Questions about this service

We follow your surgeon's instructions. If you have them in writing, bring them to your first visit.
Will you teach me exercises for work?
Yes. We show you how to lift, pull and reach in ways the shoulder tolerates better, and practice them with you.
